Noosa's Native Plants by Stephanie Haslam
Published by Noosa Integrated Catchment Association
Soft cover, full colour - 392 pages
This is an informative and well produced book describing native plants endemic to Noosa Shire, but it is also relevant to the broader south-east Queensland region.
The Noosa area is home to many different plant communities. This book is divided into ten broad vegetation categories and includes about 500 of the better-known plants.
Each chapter begins with a short description of a plant community and where to find examples of this community within the Noosa Area.
Where species occur in more than one vegetation type, this is noted. Plants are arranged alphabetically within the chapters using botanical names, but with the common names included, where known.
Grasses Native and Introduced - Grasses of the Noosa Biosphere Reserve and Surrounding Regions
Another brand new publication, beautifully presented, featuring full size colour images of 108 grasses of the Noosa Biosphere and surrounds.
Authored by Sonia MacDonald and Stephanie Haslam, the book contains little-known information on our grasses, with notes on landscaping, pasture management, weeds and bushland regeneration.
This book is made possible with funding from SEQ Catchment and revenue generated from sales of an earlier publication, Noosa's Native Plants.
