Identification Notes

Young Branchlets and Terminal buds downy. Leaves mostly held in twos with strongly raised Veins below.

Noosa Council Preferred Species . Bushy Shrub for well drained soil in full sun. Masses of shiny black Fruit enclosed in a red Aril which attracts Fruit-eating birds. Tolerates salt-laden winds. Useful windbreak, screen PlantSeed germinates readily.

Host Plant: Pencilled blue, Hairy lineblue, Six lineblue, Felders lineblue, Glistening blue butterflies. Seed dispersed by birds attracted to sweet red Aril.
