Identification Notes
Found in swampy areas near brackish Water. Stems are erect, stiff, greyish. Leaves Reduced to curved scales with mucros, on several sheaths up the Stem. Identifying features - Baumea sp Culms: Rounded, biconvex or flattened Inflorescence: Panicle of clustered spikelets, 1-3 bisexual flowers,usually only the lowest bearing a Nut. Involucral Bracts: Culm-like Leaves: Basal and Stem Leaves,4 angled to rounded, laterally compressed.
